Welcome to Chatplot ("CP", "we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the Chatplot mobile application and services.
By using Chatplot, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Name: Your display name

- Authentication credentials: Managed through Firebase Authentication (Google, Apple, or email/password)
1.2 Onboarding Information
During the onboarding process, we collect:
- How you heard about us
- User preferences and settings
- Acknowledgment of app warnings and guidelines
1.3 Clanker Creation and Customization Data
When you create and customize AI personas (Clankers), we store:
- Clanker names, pseudos, and descriptions
- Public profile information (age, job, location, bio, interests, likes, dislikes)
- Communication style configurations
- Emotional system settings
- Background stories and knowledge bases
- Custom vocabulary and formality styles
- Predefined responses
- Avatar and profile images
1.4 Conversation Data
We collect and store:
- Chat messages between you and Clankers
- Images sent in conversations
- Conversation history and context
- Message timestamps and metadata

We collect:
- App usage patterns and feature interactions
- Monthly usage metrics

1.6 Device Permissions
With your explicit consent, we may access:
- Camera: To capture and send images to Clankers
- Photo Gallery: To select and send existing images
- Notifications: To alert you of new messages and system updates
1.7 Data We Do NOT Collect
To protect your privacy, we explicitly do not collect the following:
- Contacts: We do not access your device contacts or address book
- Precise location: We do not track your precise location or use GPS
- Microphone: We do not access your microphone or record audio
- Background app data: We do not collect data when the app is running in the background
- Browsing history: We do not track your web browsing or activity outside the app
- Social connections: We do not access your social media accounts or connections
- Health data: We do not collect health or fitness information
- Financial data: We do not collect payment card information or banking details
We do not share or sell any personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
2. Third-Party Services We Use
Chatplot integrates with the following third-party services to provide our functionality:
2.1 Infrastructure and Hosting
- Railway: Server hosting and backend infrastructure
- Neon: PostgreSQL database hosting for storing all application data
- Amazon S3 (AWS): Secure cloud storage for images and media files
2.2 Authentication
- Firebase Authentication: Secure user authentication with support for Google Sign-In, Apple Sign-In, and email/password authentication
- Groq: AI inference service that powers Clanker conversations and responses
2.4 Data Processing
Groq acts as a data processor. Your messages are transmitted securely for generating AI replies and are not used to train Groq's public models.
We do not sell or share your data: We do not sell or share personal or behavioral data with third parties for advertising, profiling, or any other commercial purposes outside of providing our core service functionality.
3. How We Use Your Information
3.1 Core Functionality
- Creating and managing your user account
- Enabling you to create, customize, and interact with Clankers
- Processing and generating AI responses in conversations
- Storing and retrieving your chat history
- Managing Clanker activation, privacy settings, and discovery features
3.2 Service Improvement
- Improving AI response quality and accuracy
- Analyzing usage patterns to enhance app features
- Debugging technical issues and improving performance
- Developing new features and functionality
3.3 Communication
- Sending system notifications about usage limits and feature updates
- Responding to support inquiries and privacy requests
- Delivering important account and security information
3.4 Safety and Moderation
- Reviewing reported Clankers for inappropriate content or behavior
- Enforcing our content guidelines and terms of service
- Protecting users from harmful or illegal content
4. How We Store and Protect Your Data
4.1 Data Storage
- Database: All structured data is stored securely in Neon's PostgreSQL database with encryption at rest
- Media Files: Images and media are stored in Amazon S3 with secure access controls
- Authentication: User credentials are managed by Firebase Authentication
4.2 Security Measures
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)

- Access controls and permission systems

4.3 Cookies and Local Storage
We do not use cookies for advertising or tracking.
We use local device storage to maintain essential app functionality:
- User preferences and settings
- Login session information
- Onboarding progress and acknowledgments
- Cached data for offline access and performance
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. When you delete content or your account, data is removed from our active systems within 30 days.
5. Data Deletion and Your Rights
5.1 Clanker Deletion
You can delete individual Clankers at any time. Deleted Clankers are instantly and permanently removedfrom our database, including all configuration data, profile information, images, and conversation history.
5.2 Chat History Deletion
You can clear conversation history with any Clanker through the chat screen. This permanently deletes all messages and the Clanker's memory of that specific chat context.
5.3 Account Deletion
To request complete account deletion, contact us at chatplot.cp@gmail.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request". We will:
- Permanently delete your account and profile information
- Remove all Clankers you created
- Delete all your conversation history
- Remove your data from our active systems within 30 days
How to submit a data request: When requesting data access, export, correction, or deletion, please include:
- Your full name
- The email address associated with your account
- A clear description of your request
- Any additional information that helps us verify your identity
We will respond to verified requests within 30 days.
6. Subscription and Payment Data
Chatplot requires a subscription to access full functionality due to the computational costs of personalized AI.
All payments and subscriptions on iOS are processed securely through Apple's App Store system. Chatplot does not store or access your payment card information.

7. Children's Privacy and Age Requirements
7.1 Minimum Age Requirement
Chatplot is intended for users 13 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
7.2 Parental Guidance
We strongly recommend parental supervision for users between 13 and 18 years of age.
7.3 COPPA Compliance
If we discover that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete that information immediately. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at chatplot.cp@gmail.com.
8. AI Limitations and Content Guidelines

Chatplot is not responsible for content generated by Clankers. AI responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate. Users are solely responsible for verifying any factual information and using the service at their own discretion. Chatplot does not provide medical, legal, financial, or professional advice of any kind.
8.1 AI Accuracy
AI responses generated by Clankers may sometimes be inaccurate, inappropriate, or unpredictable. Users should:
- Always verify important information independently
- Not rely on Clankers for medical, legal, or financial advice
- Report Clankers that behave inappropriately
8.2 Content Policy
Users must use respectful language. The following is prohibited:
- Harmful, illegal, or inappropriate content
- Harassment, hate speech, or discriminatory content
- Content that violates others' rights
9. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. By using Chatplot, you consent to such transfers. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
